Above, the link to part one, Now i have found that the work carried out is dispicable! They have put the wrong support in the fire and the mortar is flaking away, revealing that some parts have not been bonded correctly. I had a man out to fit the aga into th fire place and they said they would have to remove the aga due to the unlevelled floor and the fact the the chimney may well fall down!?

I have cancelled the transfer that was going through to their account and await their phone call.

Anything else i can do?

Thank you in advance!!

get a proper builder and ask what it would cost to repair there dodgy works, get a written quote from him,and present it to the other firm stating that if they do not deduct remedial costings from the bill you will be consulting a lawyer, and trading standards,.How did you get them in the first place.a tip is always go on recommendation and if in doubt ask to see examples of there works or certificates of qualification!
