For denying a liver transplant to a young woman, calling it "too experimental" but at the last minute before death, gave last minute approval out of public pressure ? Sould Jail be considered as a alternative for insurance companies playing God with our lives ? Where Does your candidate stand on this issue ? or do they benefit through insurance lobbying groups ?

Yes, they should, 100% Let me tell you about Cigna, I had a massive heart atack , and coded blue. It damaged my heart
and only had 20% working, they paid their part of the bill, no problem there , But they had an RN call and wanted me to inform her if I had any more problems. right i am having a heart attack and i am going to take time to call an Rn. DUH
I am sure they had well intentions, but that does not help when a person life is on the line. I have no choice but stay with them no other ins. co will even talk to me now, then they sent the well intention leaflet. I can handle that now that I am feeling better., I am not mad ,But this is it all about business
and not the patient, seems cold to me. My canidate is for good health care, it will not help me .But if it can help my fellow man then I am all for it. Merry Christmas

Health insurers in the USA exist because they put profits for shareholders before people. You do not make a profit by paying out ! Big money equals big influence as every sycophantic political wannabee will be happy to be a lapdog to these corporations

The shareholders in these corporations are the real criminals and so is the American government.

If the USA was to stop wasting its tax payers money on stupid wars it would be able to finance a health system that could provide free health care at best, to a heavily subsidized at worst health care system for ALL Americans.

That way health insurance would be optional for those who want special treatment , IE private rooms or specific Dr's of their choice and not compulsory.

Oops I said stupid wars ..that will get me some thumbs down

No. That's stupid. They didn't deny her care. They basically told the parents,
1. You pay for an insurance plan.
2. The plan you picked out & pay for doesn't cover experimental services.

That being said, if you pick a health insurance plan without experimental benefits, the insurance plan won't pay them. Duh.

Or, if this insurance was through the parents group health plan from their employer, and was paid for by the employer... They need to scream @ HR, not the insurance company.

I had Cigna a few years ago when I was diagnosed with Cancer...I caught hell from them. When you are sick the last thing you or you caregiver should have to worry about is; will a needed procedure be covered. Yes they should be held accountable, in every way possible. No one should have to suffer like this...no one.

Well there you go, if you paid for your own operation then the insurance company couldn't deny you.

Absolutely. Health insurance should be called "You're insured if I feel like it".
