There are so many good songs to choose from that It is hard to know where to start. If I was in your shoes, I would first decide what style of music you would like to cover - rock - jazz - R&B - C&W and so forth. Then I would go to the closest music store and see if they have a good educational program for that particular style. The music stores are more likely to have good selections for somebody at your particular level of talent and training. The sales clerk will be very anxious to help you find good quality songs because he/she will want you to come back and buy more.

I'd try some songs like Green Day's Basket Case or Longview. Not many chords, but great songs.

in case you likes blues, verify out some thing by Jimi Hendrix, or Stevie Ray Vaughan. Hendrix's "hearth" is one my favourites - really uncomplicated to play and it enables the drummer to really show off!
