Because you connect with them through their music. I didnt care when Fat Pat and Big Moe and all of them died (no pun intended) But when the Pimp died, I had to go get some liquor, some you know what, and bump some UGK.

I never really even connected to Biggie, so I wasnt sad when he died.

So to answer your question, its really the connection we have through the rappers music.

haha no one seems afraid, have you heard all this disposable material coming out of many of these newer artists? their influences should be turning in their graves lol. people out there see fallen rappers as deities and worldly philosophers...like hip hop never existed without biggie and tupac, what a load of crap...plus, people may be afraid because it's hard to let go anyway, it's a natural human reaction to death haha.
