Fall Of Hitler

2016-10-17 13:57:54 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

The short answer is Hitler failed to accomplish his goals because he laid everything on winning the war.

There are several key points in WWII at which Hitler made crucial errors.

1. He failed to eliminate the RAF and consequently failed to conquer the U.K. This left him with an open front as well as leaving the Western Allies with an excellent base from whcih to mount a counter-offensive.

2. Hitler attacked the Soveit Union. By not immediately being successful he placed Germany into a two front war.

3. Hitler declared war on the U.S. In the long run there was very little chance that Hitler could overcome the U.S.' industrial might.

Here is Hitler mistakes listed from the start of the war 1) Starting in 1939 if you look at any military information during this time you will see that the German army, navy and air force were barely ready to go to war if he would have waited a couple more years he would have gone father quicker. 2) starting by attacking Poland there was nothing in it for him at the time he should have started by attacking Hungary or Romania these countries had the best engineers in the world and were poorly lead putting full concentration into this front would have given Hitler a quick base to Greece and on to rich oil fields in middle east. 3)he should have started the war against the west by attacking France if this could have been done which it was even France had months to prepare it would have been done in a month and Hitler should have never formed the Vichy French he should have split the spoils of France into a proper province of greater Germany and trained the French soldiers and given them proper weapons when the Americans invaded north Africa some Vichy French unit resisted either so they were never helped if he would have helped them with arms and training he would have had a great local force down there without having to send any troops himself. 4) merging Italy with Germany and retraining the Italian army this army had no training and poor equipment it was not equipped to do what it was asked by Mussolini if it would have been trained in German tactics Hitler would now have the forces of three countries. 5) changing from bombing military targets to civilian he was an idiot Hitler may have needed to bomb British industry but not it's civilians also he could have modified his fighters to longer flights over Britain they could only stay over there for 20 minutes if he knew that he could send his fighters over a unexpected intervals and if he had modified the fighters they would be able to give protection to the bombers for the entire flight also if he did attack the airfields there would be less fighters to oppose him. 6)Failure to capture Malta not many people know but this little island was one of the main reasons that Rommel did not have enough supplies if this island would have been captured early he would have had control of the Mediterranean and ferrying supplies to north Africa would have been easy. 7) not supplying sufficient air cover to the N.A front without this supplies were just mowed down and that was the reason the Rommel never made it to the Suez with this Rommel would have made this and captured Egypt and possible been able to add the Nazi uprisings in Iraq and Iran to is growing empire. 8) Not investing in a large enough night fighter force Germans not known to many the Germans had an excellent night fighters but not enough of them if he would have invested in a large night fighter force the allied bombing runs would have been cut to threads and German industrial production would have remained high. 9) Bismarck and submarines if these would have been used properly they could have severely humiliated and destroyed the British fleet Hitler never built enough u-boats or equipped them with enough torpedoes if he would have done this the u-boat could have sunk many more allied ships also if he would have used the Bismarck to lure out a large part of the British fleet he could have surprised and destroyed a large part of it with his u-boat fleet and surface fleets that and a continued air offensive targeting airfields and industry would have finished off the British ability to fight a war and if crops were attacked and burned near harvest the British would have had to sue for peace by public demand. If all or most of these would have been done the war would have ended differently and the invasion of U.S.S.R would have been quick and could have taken as long as they wanted with the population of Europe and the middle east. But if Hitler had done that it wouldn't have been Hitler because Hitler was known for his hatred of anyone not German and in the end that was his downfall.

Diminished resources and oil coupled with availability of fresh troops didnt help.

He lost a large part of his army in the failed russian campaign.

The actual end came about becuase of the injection of new troops and weapons, continuous bombardment of major cities and the capital provided to the allies from the USA.
( Not provided free I might add, they made a very tidy profit)

It is also a fact that Hitler used to take a concontion of daily "vitamins" which consisted of some general vitamins and methamphetamines. This is ultimately what lead to his downfall as he became paranoic and irrational in his decision making toward the end.

At the time Meths were not seen as harmful by doctors who prescribed them for a number of ailments

RE:
Why did hitler fall?

2015-08-06 03:34:17 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Several reasons. The main one being I think he lost touch with reality more and more as the war went on. This started with his first defeat in Russia. He just didn't seem to handle setbacks very well(a characteristic of narcissism). Even his own generals stopped agreeing with what he was doing and tried to kill him. He had grandiose dreams of what the world would be like when he conquered it and just couldn't give them up when everything wasn't going exactly as planned. He was also taking medications for sevaral chronic ailments that may have clouded his judgement.
The people in his conquered territories didn't like the conquerers very much and aided and abetted the resistance and foreign powers trying to push the Nazi's out.
And thirdly his plans may have been too ambitious or too fast for the resources he had and the time in which he was trying to do it.

The war was still up for grabs in the spring of 1942. After the debacle at Stalingrad and failure to conquer the Caucasian oil fields, the end was no longer in doubt.
