no im not being cold hearted, but there are kids her age that will get no gifts this year, so it makes sense to donate to these children instead

Why sad ? Why the surprise ? What else could the McCanns do with 50,000 teddy bears, 5,000 barbie dolls, etc etc
Why this misplaced "loyalty" for a couple you never met and who have ALREADY confessed to neglecting their kids ?! Puzzles me ! You are wrong if you think that the ANTI McCanns want to see the McCanns executed. We don't.... we just see through the cr*p because that is precisely all that's all that's been said in favour of the McCanns.

I can't agree more. Gerry McCann works in a hospital, where there are probably children having to spend christmas in the wards. So why not put, a smile on their faces and give some the presents to them. Surely if and when they did have Maddie back, that the day they went and passed out a few presents, putting a few smiles on the ill lil faces. That they could look back on with fondness in the dark times on 2007.

Possibly the McCanns might keep a few for the twins but I imagine most will be donated to children's homes and hospitals.
Too good a PR opportunity to miss.

I kinda agree - if the presents were destined for the twins then maybe - however I think the best thing that Gerry & Kate can do is donate the presents to the hospitals wards for all the sick children & less better off.

I agree with you it would be far better if they were given to Children in need of them after all if she was found tomorrow she would not go short of anything but lets face it some children have nothing

I believe they would - but Kate and Gerry have said that if it gets to the point where there are simply too many, they will donate them to charity, just like they did with the cuddly toys. It was a really kind thing to do, and it's nice to know that people are that lovely, but like the answerer above me said, it really is misplaced.

i hate to sound mean but yes they probably would've although we all live in hope that she is alive and well but hundreds could of been given to a hundred needy kids instead, its thoughtfull of all who sent them but also on the other hand donating money into the search for her would've been a better gift.

I thought the same thing; I mean, why send her presents when she quite likely won't be there to open them? Not being hard hearted, I do have every sympathy.
But I did wonder...Why?

Of course. Yes its sad that the little girl is missing but to send presents. Her parents are doctors, they ain't exactly poor.

yes
people want to be supportive - but the child is missing, the gifts would be very much appreciated by children who will have few presents at Christmas
not necessarily those in hospital, they are just ill, but children of parents in hostels, b and b accommodation etc
