No.
It depends on what you mean by "dominant species."
If you're defining dominant species as apex predators, then yes, but that's a craptacular definition of dominance.
If you're defining dominant species as species that no one eats except carrion eaters (things that aren't eaten unless they die) then elephants and whales win.

No, first of all, humans did not evolve from monkeys. Monkeys and humans share a common ancestor.
Secondly, don't think of evolution as a goal. Animals don't evolved back or forward, they just change to suit the environment.
Humans do need protein, but it does not have to come from meat (there are vegetarians out there), but it is harder. By the way, monkeys eat meat when they can get it.

First off, we NEVER EVOLVED FROM MONKEYS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Monkeys and humans have a common ancestor.
Secondly, this question also assumes that monkeys are vegetarians and not all varieties of monkeys are by any means. In fact vervet monkey is the favorite prey of chimpanzee.
Thirdly, wherever there are Indian elephants, they are the most dominant species (aside from humans).

You can't evolve back into anything, but you can de-evolve or regress to an animalistic type of behavior only after extreme behavior modification.
You would become a vegetarian if you stopped eating meat, but even primates eat some meat.

you cant de-evolve. what has happened has happened. and eating meat is just because of evolution. animals that dont eat meat evolve into animals that have teeth specifically for eating leaves and stomachs to digest it.
no, we will not "evolve back" into monkeys.
and eating meat has nothing to do with dominance. its like meat eaters are warriors. and the herbivores are freakin hippies. but it doesnt mean that the herbivores arent strong or dominant or whatever.

No. If we stopped ingesting meat shall we adapt different factors for the necessary protein and nutrition linked to meat and Cows, being domesticated, might want to nonetheless be depending on guy.

I think you'll find monkeys eat meat! Chimpanzees are meat eaters. It's quite un-nerving to see as they prey on smaller monkeys! It's almost cannibalistic!

No, since we didn't evolve from monkeys in the first place.
We would, however, evolve into a bunch of pasty-skinned weaklings.
