no- why would it be? I'd make certain that she's planning on breast feeding and that she will need to pump before buying it though. Make certain that whatever you get her, it is something that she can use, something that she needs (there's probably a lot) or at least something she really really wants.
If you are going to her baby shower, I hope that you are going to be supportive of her and not tell her something like, "well, now that you've ruined your life, it's all over for you." I was a pregnant teen and people said stuff like that! It's not helpful.
I hope that you will not forget her after the baby shower and help her out w/ babysitting and mamma's helper kinds of things. When my kids where young, I had some great people who would watch my kids for me when I started to get stressed- they would urge me to take a walk and would look after everything for me. It was a lifesaver!

Not at all just because she is a teen doesn't mean that she's not a mother and all mother's regardless of age need the same materials and gear... Instead of worrying about that I would worry about if the pregnant girl is planning to breast feed or bottle feed for that I would call her or her mother or another family member to see if she she plans on breast or bottle feeding... If she is breast feeding than a breast pump would be a great gift if not than some other ideas that I recieved for my baby shower that I really enjoyed is a boppy pillow, formula, diapers, or a cute baby outfit.... Even bottle may be good for the new mother Good luck and happy shopping!

There is nothing wrong in this gift, but as a nurse and mom, I can recommend that a breast pump is good only after you go back to work/school and not while you are with your baby at home, because your milk will only come when you place baby to eat. How determine is your friend related to breastfeeding is another thing you have to consider, because if she is only saying that she might breastfeed, better get her something else because your gift will be stored in the closet and breastpumps ARE expensive.

No, i think that is a very good gift. Breast pumps are an important aid in keeping the baby on breast milk. You will be helping the mom give her baby the best start possible.

Buying her a breast pump is fine no matter how old she is. She's already pregnant. It won''t help to not buy her something, especially something as useful as a breast pump.

No. It would make it easier for her do what's best for the baby on two counts: 1) give the baby the best nutrition and 2) be able to work/finish school/etc. ... and if Dad's in the picture, it would allow him to care of the baby and provide him/her with the same nutrition.

Why would it be?? I mean, hell, shes already pregnant being a teen. But I'm sure that would be an appropriate gift for her.
