I added bleach to a natural toliet cleaner. It started foaming out of bottle and the smell and fumes overwhelmed me. My eyes were burning and my throat and nostrils. I got some fresh air but can still smell it even though I have venilated the area. Will I be ok? I feel ok now....just eyes burning still. I have no headache or dizziness. What should I do?

Its been a few hours now and I seem ok. Will I be ok? Or will effects still happen later?

yep....I mixed bleach with ammonia to clean the floor (idiot...I didnt know)....had similiar experience as you....if you acted quickly from the reaction and got away and got some fresh air, you should be fine. Those are toxic fumes....and I used to think X-14 was bad.

Glad you're ok.

You probably produced chlorine gas, which is very dangerous and can kill you. I bet that natural toilet cleaner contains ammonia and even explicitly warns against mixing with chlorine bleach. Never mix household chemicals again, but I think you already know that.

Rinse your eyes out with water. If you feel ANY tightness in your chest head to the ER.

There's a reason why the warning labels say not to mix certain chemicals- and you just discovered one of them the hard way.

You were lucky in that nothing worse happened. Try rinsing your eyes well, flush the toilet, and don't do it again.

Good luck, Honey.

You can burn your lungs if you mix beach products with amonia products. Open all the windows and go outside for a while. Put your pets outside too if you have any.

Yes, and you should never do this.
You can release chlorine gas. This is deadly.
