Should I consider a new job?

Basically, things are unfair here. In payroll, I get to see everything and unfortunately I have noticed that this year our bonuses are not proportionate with whom is deserving. For example, our employee who is the most senior and the hardest worker is getting a smaller bonus than someone who has been here half the time and doesn't work as hard (mind you I am judging by quality, hours put in, business brought to the company, and workload). I like both of these individuals so it isn't favortism. And logically, the company can reward how they see fit, after all, it is a bonus....but should I stay with a company that has a warped point of view?

My bonus is so pitiful that it's not worth mentioning.

I got a much smaller than expected bonus too. About a third of what I was expecting.

I'm not going to move on, though. I like where I'm working. I love what I do. But I'm not gonna bust my @$$ 10-12 hour days anymore like I have been. I don't get to see what everyone else gets, but for the crappy bonus I got, I won't be arriving until 8 each morning, and I'm out the door at 5.

Bonus is a reward. The quantum ia fixed on a certain basis. Basis can be found out.. Just on the point of quantum of Bonus, one should not consider withdrawing. Good luck.

I wouldn't base your decision solely on who gets what bonus.
I'd be more concerned about my base pay. Bonuses only happen a couple times a year and for the majority of us, they aren't the significant portion of our income. Also, things like vacation time, telecommute possibilities, health care benefits, etc. are better indicators of how well compensated you are.

Interesting -- so bonuses aren't given out based on merit. Perhaps they are like my company -- based on a percentage of the company profits, with the percentage different for each employee.

You have to do what you feel is right, I wouldn't leave a comp. over a bonus.

Mine was measily this year too! Only $100.00

Like my dad always said, "never leave your current job unless you have something bigger and better written in stone."
