YES! After I had shoulder surgery I lost my voice for like 4 weeks! (From the tube thingy they put down your throat) It was awful! When it finally started to come back it was so scratchy and warbly it annoyed even me so I tried not to annoy others by keeping my mouth shut.(Doesn't always work when you're opinionated!) It never did go back to "normal" It still crackles and hitches sometimes like a boy in puberty! The good news is I can sing just like Janice Joplin!! LOL!

I had it for a week once. It was so difficult at work! Never had it THAT long, I COMPLETELY lost my voice. Luckily, my husband and I know sign language. it came in handy so even though it was a bit quieter, I still talked almost as much! LOL! yesterday my husbands throat hurt so bad and his voice was just about gone, so I told him to sign to me. He was grateful for that.

The longest I've ever had it was for two days. I had to get my wife to call in sick for me because the receptionist kept hanging up thinking it was a crank call when I tried it.
