No. of course not. Being nice is part of being a good person and you should be a good person for your own sake. Love yourself, be able to look yourself in the mirror and smile and realize you are as good as most people and better then many.

Some people still appreciate a nice person while others find reasons to put them down.
I have figured out a lot of people on here that do and don't appreciate nice people. I stay away from the ones who don't like nice people and stay where I am liked and appreciated. Nice isn't really outdated... just some people can't handle it very well.

I think sometimes when you are too PC or too concerned with hurting someones feelings (or not) people build this filter and become more sensitive for their own good. So sometimes it is outdated, it all depends on your intentions though, I mean, don't be a crab ***. :)

That is a good question. 'being nice' is something that people do when they do not speak their mind. "Being nice" is letting others walk over you. "being nice" is being plesant to a person's face, even if they are ticking you off. Being nice all the time is a lack of definition in ones personality. People should not 'be nice' all the time, or feel guilty for speaking their mind. However, it is good practice to use manners, even when speaking your mind.
