That depends on whether you mean:
1/(2*x)=23/6
or
(1/2)*x=23/6




1/(2*x)=23/6
2*x*6*1/(2*x)=2*x*6*23/6
6*1=2*x*23
6=46*x
6/46=46*x/46
6/46=x




(1/2)*x=23/6
x/2=23/6
2*6*x/2=2*6*23/6
6*x=2*23
6*x=46
6*x/6=46/6
x=46/6
