What do you mean by "world" ? I see this as the 6.5 billion living human sons of God on this planet and all made by Jesus Christ. I am not a "nature lover"; if I were, I would not heat our home in the Winter or cool it in the Summer; I would get "in tune" with the minus 27 degrees F. below zero outside by using no heat and opening all the doors and windows and also having no clothing to separate me from being fully in tune with minus 27 degrees F. Ha ha
The actual tune that most humans on earth now play is a low frequency one of godless secular humanism and materialism. If we want to do God's will here, we will try to help "tune up" more willing brothers and sisters into the growing Family of God in Jesus here.

Have you tried meditation? The Buddhists get in tune with the world around them by getting out into nature and sitting there until they feel themselves become a part of it.
Also, read Nature by Emerson. He has some excellent philosophies of how we can tap into the universal "spirit."

Read the short, highly-readable book
"In Tune with the World" by Josef Pieper. It has 3 5-star ratings on Amazon. He is one of my favorites.

Also, when I surround myself with nature and animals..

Since you are basically a divine being (child of God), get "in tune" with yourself first, and the world will be at your feet.

further to the above answers, to listen, see from the others perspective, learn to care about others, their strengths and feelings..It is not for all, as being in tune with humanity, your sixth sense enjoins you to their vulnerability, their need for emtional sustenance etc...not for the faint hearted
