We label people, because of the type of clothes they wear or music, or opinions. I think its so we can get some common back ground when talking to them.
I think the media started the whole labelling thing.

From the little experience I have with people in general, we mostly label ourselves. Personally I could care less

Yeah, why speak at all. Why call a potato a potato, when we can just think of it as a vegetable? Or am still labeling?

yes it makes sense
i just think that when people lable others it makes them feel better about themselves
also somtimes its easier for people to say: shes that prep who all she wears is AEO, or: its that geeky blonde guy
but that isn't the best way to point out a person
people label before they listen (and meet the person)

I don't, but my impression is that people categorise people so that there is less of the unknown to be afraid of. This dogma rules the world now, which is why nothing is surprising anymore

It makes easier for people who do not want to approach individual problems, they much rather lump everybody into one category...
