We pay the nursing home extra to keep switching the calender dates so mom never knows the holidays are approaching

He cheated. He had a cut straw. It is a full length straw with a cut section. It looks like a long straw. So if he chooses it it will be a long straw. But if you choose it he will hold the bottom of it and it will break off when you pull it out. That way no matter what you get the short straw. hahaha.
That just sux! haha

We don't we let my parents choose. they are getting older so we just let them choose where they are most comfortable. If money isn;t an issue than have all your siblings contribute some money for a nice hotel room. you can find one in your price range. I know it is hard to have your mom stay with you, but remember she isn;t going to be around forever and you want to cherish the moments she is..

too funny...no, for the past 24 years my family has lived 1/2 a continent away and man did I love it! That is all about to come crashing down around me next year...how about we get my mom and your mom together and maybe they will become fast friends and hopefully forget all about us?!

I don't have to this year. They will be away. But I get along with my mom really well. Then again, she usually stays at my sisters house. No worry's here.

Be overjoyed with keeping her entirely too busy doing Christmas crafts-construction paper chains, snowflakes with sparkles, decorating store bought cookies, gingerbread house, that she won't think of your house as an option next year.

We only do that in deciding where to go for the holidays, else, all of us will gather at my parents'.

LOL No, here there will be at minimum, 38 people here at the parents house for dinner!! The dinner is always held at my parents house!!
