...just out of curiosity, have theer been any other noteworthy feature films based upon L. Ron Hubbard's written work, besides "Battlefield Earth"?? Or was "Battlefield Earth" pretty much a one-shot deal?? (...didn't exactly translate very well to the big screen, did it?!?!)

...looks like the rest of Hubbard's written work, outside of "Battlefield Earth" was pretty much non-fiction and reference material...

However, I DID stumble upon a little noteworthy tidbit of trivial cinematic information; apparently, the post-apocalyptic sci-fi/action cheapie from 1988, entitled "World Gone Wild", had a religious cult group depicted in the film, who according to the original script, was devoted to the scriptures of L. Ron Hubbard...particularly his best-selling book, "Dianetics". When the head-honchos over at the Church of Scientology heard about this, they threatened to sue the filmmakers, and as a result, the script was changed, eliminating any references to Hubbard and his book...

...ah, yes!!! The sorrid tales that lie beneath the dark and damp underbelly of Hollywood!!!

Nothing L. Ron Hubbard is involved with should be classified as "noteworthy". The man was a complete scam artist and a junkie.
