My wife and I recently bought an old sports program at a flea market. When we took it home, I found that a few pages had been stuck together. When I separated the pages and opened them up, we found that one entire page was filled with autographs from old baseball players. Pie Traynor, Roberto Clemente, Satchel Paige, etc. The date on the inside copyright stamp reads 1968. All of the autographs are written with what looks like an old fountain tip ink pen. Because of this I think that they are all genuine.

So whats the best way to determine their value? Any ideas as to what this might be worth? We only paid two dollars for it anyway so we're just curious. Thanks in advance for any responses.

All three players were alive in 1968 and it very well could be that you have something special. It is not just the signatures but the fact you have it on an old program with a date on it helps. The first thing you should do is to take the program to an approved source for certifying signatures and have them confirmed. This is a one-of-a-kind item and it is very unlikely that anyone has anything just like it. Because of this there are collectors that would want to add this piece of baseball history to their collection. There are a lot of factors involved in determining a value. The two most important issues is the confirmation of the signatures and the quality of the program. I believe the value of this item would be around $1,000 and maybe more if you found just the right buyer. Good luck to you and this great find.

One of the top autograph authenticators is psa/dna, unfortunately they are pretty spendy. It looks like it would cost somewhere around $100 to authenticate your autographs but they would give you a letter of authenticity. If the names are authentic though it would definitely be worth it. You could then try and sell it on ebay, with proof that its authentic it could sell for pretty high. (You can always put a reserve price on it in case it would sell low) Well the site you can look at is http://www.psadna.com/authentication.chtml in any case awesome find and good luck

Oh man that sounds awsome. I wish I could tell you the value. But look in the yellow pages to see if there is a place near you that specializes in value stuff. Shoot...if you got some kind of page protecter or something, put it in there to keep it in good shape as it is. Awsome job getting something neat like that.
