That is, paintings on the wall, the tea set, the curtains etc.? Also, do you like to study the actors when they are suppose to be eating? Some eat like they are starving and others just move the fork about. Am I the only one that notices these things?

I often watch movies just to see the beautiful furniture! I even turn off the sound some times. I also like to watch for the fashions, or scenery. I used to always watch "All Creatures Great and Small" with the sound off, just so I could focus on the beautiful English countryside. I do notice in shows such as in "Happy Days" or others that are supposed to be recreating the past where they are showing a Tupperware item that wasn't even available then - stuff like that. Once I noticed on a movie a family was in a restaurant chatting and they had plates in front of them that had remnants of food. The waiter walked up and asked if they were ready to order. Somebody goofed! Also, you'll see a family who has just sat down to have breakfast, and then a moment later, before they've eaten anything, they jump up and say they've got to get to work or school. Or they finish eating but then they run out the door without brushing their teeth! I hate that!

Yes I do. I especially love the old black and white movies stage sets. Like Rebecca, House of the Seven Gables, Ghost and Mrs. Muir etc. and later on Days of Wine and Roses with Jack Lemmon. Today I watch also but only about the third time I see a movie as action is much faster now. In the old B&W movies occasionally you will note the car that went off the cliff was a different model and color. Good question!

No, you are not the only one. I like old movies from the 30s and 40s. I especially like the clothes and hair styles. Ever notice the women all wear evening dresses at home even when they are not going out? They wake in the mornings with perfect hair and make up. I love that. I like the look of the sets and the homes. Most have a maid, even ordinary working folks.

I like the light and shadows of the old Film Noir movies. The venetian blind which casts lines across the room or on the actors. Also, the old technicolor movies when Natalie Kalmus was credited with Technicolor Consultant. These older movies were drenched with beautiful colors. Some pictures on the walls that were in style in the 30's or 40's, I have in my apartment. They were collected over the years and I love seeing them in these old movies.

I do too. and I sometimes turn the sound off because I seem to be able to notice more things than when it's on. I also think that since the onset of home movies we have become movie critics and notice more when acting is good or just downright bad.
Have you noticed how the spoken language has evolved since the early movies . People just don't talk like that anymore.

No I love the art of acting and I notice all those things. I love the old movies because the sets have so many details to them as you said...kind of wish I could have lived in that era, like the late 30's and 40's. Just sometimes!!lol!

Yes, I love looking at the furnishings and decor in the old movies. I've always thought it would be great to be a property person in the theatre, and I wonder how they procure the appropriate items to decorate the sets. Like another answerer, I do find it hilarious to see actresses lying in bed after a long night, still with perfect make-up and hairstyles , and their glamorous nightgowns don't have a crease in them !

No you are not. I like to look at the architecture, furnishings, old cars and the street scenes.
There were very few and limited special effects, so the actors had to relay on their acting ability to make a movie, unlike the so-called actors of today.

Yes, I always notice the sets of the stage. Some of the doors and walls seem so flimsy. And, I like to look how they have decorated to get ideas.

I do that no matter what movie I watch. I like to see how things are decorated. I also like to look at actors in the background and watch them pretending to be busy. This is more fun on sitcomes though. Everytime that I watch a western and the cowboys are eating their ''grub'' it makes me hungry.
