You may also be able to take an exam to do this, like the CLEP. For example, you can earn credit for English, History, Spanish, French, etc. They offer basic subjects. Find out if your school accepts this kind of credit, look at the subjects you do well in, and use your winter break to study.

You may find that it overlaps with the beginning of the next semester at your school, but a number of schools offer some intersession classes during the break. I know a number of my students were looking into this possibility. There would really be a market for such courses offered online, if anyone is doing it that way.

Yes, many colleges and universities offer winter session courses. Do a little research, and fast, to see if you can get in to any! Good luck!
