try and make it seem as if we have anything to do with the Macedonians in Greece?
We are called Macedonians.. but we are Slav Macedonians, We do not have anything to do with Alexander the Great, we just live in the ancient Greek territory called Macedonia, that is where we get our name from...

Well Geneviv, I am glad you asked... we are also Christian, we were convered by the Greeks in our region, You know the Greek Saints Methodius and Cyrril, actually our peoples were nomadic and they came from the north.. as i said before we do not have a lot of history, kind of not civilised until we settled in Greek macedonia. and then we were mixed with Bulgarians...in fact our language is a dialect of Bulgarian.

Ovichika.. I am a Slav that lives in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia... my ancestors were Bulgarian... and i am proud of it...... I am not Greek nore am i dragging any country throu the dirt, i am asking a legitimate question and am not doing anything moraly wrong... Do you know what your true nationality is??? Our country is going through a crisis becuase of people like you who what the easy way out by stealing an other countries culture.... dont be surprised.. that your own country men call you out on this go to your local Brsja " beer pub in my language for those that do not speak" and you will see others like me... i am tired of all the fighting and just want our country to prosper in the EU and in the UN.. we are not true Macedonians.. and we should not steal our neibours identities....

Since you have an open forum, I'd love for you to tell us more about your ethnic history. Before 7 years ago, and back about 3000 years, who were the Macedonians and what were your people's customs? I love learning about your part of the world and it would be great to hear your take on it all.
BTW, my father's people were Slavs. They were trapped in that piece of land between Germany and Poland that kept getting tossed around. It's really frustrating when people want to pigeon hole us and call us Pollacks. They didn't speak real Polish and their traditions are much, much richer. We're also an Orthodox people, not Catholic.

Makedonija is different from Macedonia.
And Makedonci would never talk about Makedonija with disrespect.
It is a proof that Greek troll entered Y! only a day ago and is provoking. Shame......and talking about "moraly wrong" - it is very very wrong.
