But you are fat, aren't you? Why else would you have a user name of "Fatman"?

no . you chose the i d they were following an a.k.a. other under circumstances yes , you would have a valid lawsuit. if the insult was job related 5 fiqures , same as city state or federal employee . a employee of a coperation less but a win, a company employee less again. would you get your day in court ,no. all of the above would be settled out of court . this would give you more finicial gains , less lawyer fees . i dont understand the distress you suffered but it has upset you . i thought these days were over . a small suggestion , possibly change your user id i dont think you will be using this service for a while you are naturally upset . change id calm down then answer questions . there is the potetional for a lawsuit under the question section were a fine outstanding human enjoys using the word r***rd towards parents of mentally handicapped children . this is both a criminal charge , as well as a six fiqure civil suite . complex ceiminal charges simple civil suite good luck easy for me to say stay calm but please do . i think what you need is to try canadas new sport , it is called the mehie- jav . wereyou find a methie, throw him like a javlin take a mesurment and see how you do . most incrediable way to loose stress . at your size 60 plus feet possible good tossing better holidays

No, you have no grounds for a case. First, you are using the nickname "Fatman" so they are probably using your nickname to personalize the e-mail.
Secondly, you signed away any rights you may have had when you checked the box that agreed to the terms and agreements when you opened your account.
Lastly, Yahoo is a huge corporation that can bankrupt you without blinking if you pursued legal action. Not too mention if they wanted to they can drag this case out for decades if they wanted to. But best of luck if you want to sue.

It's your username, so no. They didn't call you fat, they just called you by the name they know, which is fatman...your username. If they sent someone else a message like that, it might read, "Hey, _______, don't hit that snooze button too many times..." They fill in the blank with your username. Also, if they were calling you fat, they would say fat man, not Fatman.

You have no ground for it. Your name is "FAT" ... Why using the name "Fatman" ... ? I think you have been partying too much and drinking ...careful, don't drink and drive this holiday season. Start dieting and do some exercise to get rid of the fat in your brain.

Actually, you are the one who named yourself Fatman. Maybe you could sue your parents for not raising a child who can pick a good user name.

Lol. It's probably a computerized automatic e-mail that gets sent out and inserts whoever's user ID into that slot.
Ex: "Hey, Leona8522, don't hit that snooze button..."
I wouldn't sue them over it. You picked the ID.

a user sent you that, VIA YA.
See the difference?
Web sites are immune form suits of the nature you ask about because they are just conduits for the info.
The very act of editing what goes through opens them up to suits, and that is why they don't do it. there would be no email at all, actually, no internet at all, if that was not so.
