I would say nothing - I would leave, and dust off my resume, and start calling people I know and see what options might be out there. I'd hit the employment advert websites hard and get my resume out everywhere I could over the next couple of days, and do some research on other job possibilities.

I would also take some time to freelance write, and see if I can make some supplemental income.

I would file for unemployment compensation.

I would hide the fact of my firing for as long as possible, because I would be embarrassed if people found out.

My mom was crying when she called me. Her work got some new supervisor where she works. She a nurse and works in a hospital. They told her that she has to work day shift for three months. and if she doesn;t she fired. My mom been working night shift for a long time and she been there working there over 15 years. I think that kind of wrong to tell her that she has to work day shift. And she also babysitt her grandchildren. now it kind of hard on everything since this is going on. But she thinking about finding a new job.. She only working two days a week. but still why they making her doing this..

My boss recently suspended me for on week without pay for calling in sick on a Monday (the most important day of the work week according to him). This was despite the fact it was only the second time I have called in in a year. I am a single mom of a 16 year old and with today's economy, being suspended for one week without pay has really put a damper on this year's Christmas. I decided to spend that week wisely and I interviewed with one of our competitors and I got the job. I have wanted to work for my new employer for years and in fact so did my boss. He tried to merge with them and they refused him. So if I were to get fired today, December 21? I would be ok with that. I am giving notice January 2. Lesson here, never give your valuable employees too much time to think.

I totaly agree with on to better things. The only bad thing about company like that is that you have that on you record that you were fired. They should be reported to fair labor practices, because I'll bet they done this before and without cause I've believe that is against labor laws.

I'd say "Merry Christmas, you'll be hearing from the Union in a matter of minutes!"

Considering the evaluation I just got, I'd probably laugh and remind him its Christmas, not April Fool's Day.
