Artificial trees are much worse for the environment than real ones. The real trees are usually grown for that specific purpose. When they are cut down a new one is planted to take its place. Its much better for the environment than a plastic tree that will never decompose.

All trees are useful. They convert sunlight into organic compounds. They give delight to families when they take them into their home and decorate them. Afterwards, they are chipped up and the material is turned into compost or soil. Where ther was nothing, there is now much. Without trees, the sun might as well strike the surface of the moon.
