Bakrid (Eidul-Aduha) is in memory of the sacrifice executed by Abraham. The relation between GOD and his creation and full dedication to GOD has been symbolized in this festival .Any human being recognizing this historical action shall celebrate Bakrid.
Irrespective of region ,religion those who believe as the descendants of Adam and Eve shall celebrate this festival.

It won't be a polite answer to your question, if I am going to ask you you "is Hindu Festival holidays essential for the Indian Muslims." I may remind you that India is a Great, Democractic country where the cardial principle is given for the clause 'Unity in Diversity', thereby all the religions unitedly share their feelings, aspirations & ideas etc. in one common platform and also celebrate their festivals on the same theory.
At present we are witnesses to various diversities whether it may be in Politics, Religious etc. and or other form of unrest, in India. This is not a healthy condition for our country's growth, future development and National Unity.
Let us ignore all types of such ill wills and feelings, work for unity among all Indians & uphold the Principle, 'ONE COUNTRY, ONE RELIGION & ONE GOD'.
Jai Hind.

' Festival' refers to a time of celebration marked by special observance!
In amulti ethinic nationholidays are declared for religious festivals of all - majority and minorities!
While concerned community celebrates its festival the others compliment them and also share in their joy. This has been the custom from time immemoral! Why this question?
Rulers whoheld out the race high, namely Hitler and Shah of Iran had miserable end.

For that matter how many people are celebrating all of their own festivals? I feel that these common holidays (barring national events like independence day etc.,)should be removed and each may be given a choice of a limited number of leave days to avail.

most probably none of them are celebrating it today but.......
it doesn't mean that there is no importance of this holiday for hindus.
as the navratri holidays are not essential for them but still they enjoy during those days we as hindus should also learn to appreciate their festivals and accept the holiday even though we can't will to even see what they do during the festival.
IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE UPCOMING INDIAN HINDUS

BAkrid for Muslims not for Hindus. If you feel only Holidays should be declared only to that religion ,then this country can be declared as Dictatorship country and not democracy.
