Gay people dont bother me and im not against it, but i am wondering what is it that causes it?? Is it a fault in the brain as it seems to go against human nature, yes fair enough people have done it for thousands of years and animals do it, but is it right to say that all gay men for example have to have some "straightness" in them as biologically men need to make women pregnant to encourage life??

Nobody is entirely sure what causes homosexuality. Some neuroscientists and genetic researchers believe that homosexuality is genetically controlled, although the evidence supporting this theory is scant, at best.

People in the mental health business tell us that homosexuality can be a coping mechanism against sexual trauma. Since traumatized individuals have had their trust in the opposite gender heavily betrayed (ie: they were victims of child sexual abuse), they find it too painful to have heterosexual relationships, and turn to homosexuality because they believe that someone of the same gender could never hurt them in the same way.

The truth is, nobody really knows whether homosexuality is a conscious choice or a genetic predisposition. There are some people that just seem to be "born gay," and there are others that only realize they're gay and "come out of the closet" after getting married and having children.

Concerning your statements about the history of homosexuality, you are mainly correct. There have been homosexuals since the beginning of time, but one may argue that perverts and sexual deviants have been around since the beginning of time too, and both survived being persecuted and executed by society. So, this isn't much of a crediting statement. Furthermore, there is no such thing as a gay animal. No animal will mate exclusively with animals of the same sex. There are some male animals that appear to mate with other male animals, but this is an action intended to show dominance, not to give pleasure. You have to remember that animals know only instinct, and have no shame about raping other male animals to subdue them so they can mate with the available female ones.

Lastly, what sexual psychologists have discovered through the use of a technique called "penile plesmography," is that no man or woman is 100% straight or 100% gay. Most people appear to be around 95% straight or 95% gay. That is, every straight man is slightly aroused by gay sex, and every gay man is slightly aroused by normal sex. Bi-sexuals appear closer to 50/50, and get turned on by both.

As a Christian, I am 100% not bothered by gays. In fact, I love all gays. Why? Because all gays are people and my God "so loved the world that He gave............" (John 3:16). But, what I don't care for (and God hates it) is the life style. The homosexual life style is sin because the homosexual is only in the relationship to satisfy his or her own desires to have an unnatural relationship between members of the same gender. If this is natural, then, we, who also belong in the animal kingdom, should also see the same relationships within other animal groups of the kingdom but we don't and we don't even see any plant life behaving as such. If this is natural, why, then, does it cause controversy? We humans have been blessed with the ability to make free will choices. But, unfortunately, we humans have, too often, abused this priviledge because we just want to have our own ways. The middle of sin is "I". When the deal is all about "I" or "me", we will have trouble. Finally, just because I love the gays, I don't need to tolerate their life style. Love is not tolerance and tolerance does not equal love.

If it is a biological matter then you'd have to treat Gay folks like any other human biological aberration like, e.g. cerebral palsey sufferers. If it's a cultural choice (and this seems unlikely considering the agonies some people go through just to conceal it) we have to tolerate as freedom of expression.

The biological AND the cultural explanation is a problem for moralists, either way they're always thinking about how to cure it.

My personal opinion on this is that we all have temptations instilled in us from birth, bestowed upon us by God, in which our strength as a human being is tested on a daily basis...such as thievery, greed, gluttony, worshiping those other than God, coveting, murder, etc.... and we are supposed to be strong enough to not be led into temptation, keeping the evil (devil) at bay...
I don't understand why we as a religiously founded, and based society can accept this and other abominations that will eventually be the downfall or our society.
My answer is not "politically correct", and will I'm sure offend a lot of people, but you asked my opinion, so here it is.
And what's interesting about this is, I am not a deeply religious person, I just believe that we have a duty to ourselves as humans to procreate and build a strong race to keep our place in nature. But everyday, this and other issues are thrown in our face, continuously showing the decline and future extinction of humans.
I also don't care what it is people choose to do behind closed doors...just don't tell everyone about it. I don't go around putting bumper stickers on my car exhibiting what my sexual preferences are. I don't get to have a parade with heterosexuals, shouting out how much I love men...it's a personal, sexual issue that just doesn't need to be public.
If everyone just said, "we don't care" and stopped giving everyone the attention they want, they would stop.
I also found it interesting that you compared homosexuality to the animal kingdom....aren't we supposed to be seperate from animals? I mean, what is it that makes us better, more intelligent if we continue to practice animal-like behaviors? Killing innocent people, murdering children, molestation...

It is the y factor we carry when in the womb, it descends to the pubic region and if it remains there a boy is formed, if it does not descend a girl is formed, some times the y factor only partially descends and although the gender is decided it causes confusion to the system and to ones preference, it is not a choice to be gay.
There was a documentary explaining all this, more lucid than my poor attempt.

I say live and let live. There are a lot more important things to worry about than who sleeps with whom.

As for what causes it, I think it is more biologically baed than socially based. I have a cousin who is gay, and my mom & aunt could tell he was different from very early on. Regardless, he is a great guy, and I couldn't care less who he chooses to have sex with.

Everyone has a right to be themselves, whether that's expressed through sexuality or (general) personality. Where I draw the line is attempts to subvert the social order and to condition kids.

"Normal" sexual development is essential to socialization and successful reproductive life, including marriage, and same-sex experimentation can screw that up. Naturally born homosexuals know who they are and don't need any help finding themselves. When we encourage kids to search their feelings and try alternative lifestyles, we're courting disaster.

If a man wants to be with a man or woman wants to be with a woman, then so be it. I have no qualms about it. I wouldn't want someone having problems with the person I am with. It's none of my business who someone is with and it's none of anyone else's business who I am with. I don't know why people make such a big deal about people's sexual orientation. No matter what "causes" it, it's none of your business.

They exist just as I do. My preference of a mate has shown that my gender had been fully developed without any alterations , and I am pleased that my gender had no conflicts of interests though my thoughts were subjected to confusion after trauma not during gestation.
