Because they're both extremes of emotion.
When u love someone u invest in them emotionally totally.
If it goes wrong it hurts all the more, so hate is a response to someone u love,or loved.
U cant hate someone u are indifferent to.
Like love,hate is a passion.

It's not true.

Lovers can swing between love and 'hate' but if it goes on and on streching into years, then this is not love/hate it's just the way that this couple opperate.

When you hate someone by contrast then there is no discussion. We don't hate many but when we do then it is real and cold and love has nothing to do with it. The raped person has no love for their attacker.

An acid test of hate might be: if you could kill this person, though you would be caught, would you still do it? If the answer is yes, then there is a good chance that you authentically hate that person.

Because most love is not really love at all. It is ego attachement or need.

The ego finds a person and that person makes them feel complete or whole, it fills the void of the ego.

So when the person or the object of "affection" starts acting in a way that the ego does not like or it leaves the ego the so called love will turn to hate in the flash of an eye as the ego will resent that person and blame them for the void even though the void was there before they fell in love but in this condition it will be highlighted or exemplified.

This is ego love or conventional love. There is such a thing as true love, this is beyond ego and not dependant on that persons actions. It is true selfless love but it is so unbelievable rare.

True happiness or joy can be found through the dissolution of ego but that is another story.

Many people who think they are in "love" are not really in love at all and never have been. They are in "need".

To truly love or hate require very deep emotions and much the same commitment. One is just the other side of the coin. As you mature and life takes a few whacks at you, you will begin to understand the depth of commitment each takes. That's why everyone older tells younger people to not form permanent relationships because they don't have the maturity or life experience to understand what it takes. You may think your emotions are valid but there is more to learn. However only with the inexperience of youth can you feel pure love. And my sage advice for the day is to be careful and take the magic of childhood with you as you experience life. Experience takes the magic away but you can work to hold on to it.

It really isn't such a fine line. It's like a magnet that that attracts and repels. The same thing that mystifies and attracts you can also repel you.

Really a very interesting question. Might have a lot to do with pheromones from one day to the next. It's OK I really don't quite understand how they work either except that they work.

Both love and hate are extreme emotions. When someone you love angers you the emotional feelings are much more intense then they would be towards someone with whom you are not as close. You not only feel a deep hurt but also betrayal and when you add those emotions to your anger if can add up to that feeling of hate.

because if you love someone that much, and then for example, they do something terrible like cheat on you well then you immediately begin to hate them for the fact they hurt you and then that fine lines crossed.

That's kind of wierd cause they are at opposite ends of the spectrum....

However its because if you love someone and they betray you (you, your identity, your trust, your values and things that you hold sacred) - you quickly switch to hating them. It can be really easy to love someone then hate them the second they do something really hurtful. That is why so many people hate their ex's (that they used to love).

Because both are strong emotions that depend on a person's perception and familiarity with another person. If you're deeply, madly, passionately in love with someone, then they cheat on you, it takes no time at all for that love to turn to profound, seething hatred (take O.J. and Nicole for instance).
