3 answers

1. James Arness
2. Wounded at Anzio during WW2
3. Chester Good (Dennis Weaver)
4. Burt Reynolds (Cosmopolitan Magazine 1972)
5. I am sure you mean Milburn Stone. However, according to his nephew, that is not the case. Please read the information at the web site below. It seems he did turn down the academy, but not for that reason. His nephew writes writes "According to Mil's mother --- my Grandmother --- the reason Mil did not accept the Naval Academy appointment had to do with the medical requirements of the academy of the time. As a young teen, Mil had broken his arm playing football. The arm was not set perfectly, though it was in no way a handicap or disfigurement. Naval Academy regulations made it necessary for Mil to have the arm rebroken and reset. He resisted this and, of course, he also had the opportunity to become a professional actor right out of high school---which I think is remarkable. Indeed, Mil may be one of the few adult American actors who began working in the field out of high school and never did another job his entire life ---- except for those moments in the depression when it was necessary for him to take a temporary job between acting jobs in Hollywood.

3. Festus
4. James Arness - oh sorry - that's was on Sunshine's desktop, not a centerfold
5. Who in their right mind would turn down an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy for ANY reason?! It is a most honored hall of academia, leadership, and military strategy in addition to being the Alma Mater of MANY famous individuals such as Sunshine's brother. [Semper Fi, may he rest in peace]
