This is a good question. I have some important stuff at work the next day so I won't be able to watch the whole thing. I doesn't seem like a bright move to me. They'd get better ratings on a Saturday night I'd think.

I said this last year to friends...the hope is the game will become a combination of the NCAA Hoops Championship and Monday Night Football (when that franchise actually mattered). It will always be played as a stand-alone game, so it fits into the Monday evenig prime-time TV slot, which is a major selling point for advertisers.

I would love to see it on Saturday night but it never has been and I am quite sure it never will be. I guess this is to keep down the partying (Bummer)

I would think the ratings are way down on a monday night compared to what they would be if it was held on a saturday night.

Here is the answer:

The BCS doesn't want to compete on the same day as the NFL playoffs, plain and simple.

That is why it will never be played on a weekend. The NFL playoffs are on that Saturday and Sunday.

So ratings on TV will still be the best on any alternate day, including Monday.

I know I hate that too. Same with the Super Bowl. Why can't it be on a Saturday night. It's hard to have any fun if you know you have to go to work the next day.

It doesn't matter to me....I got a vacation day scheduled for the next day so I can sleep in and not worry about getting up at 5am.
