Drugstores will have it, but the only price I know is for the stuff on the shelves which comes in a small bottle (around $5)... never heard of pure glycerin behind the pharmacy counter, but if so, one quart for $5 would be quite a good price!

If you want larger amounts, feed stores will have gallon or so sizes (for using on horses' hooves).

You can use other things in a snowglobe besides glycerin to make the snow fall more slowly though... mineral oil would be one (or the type in baby oi), or corn syrup, or even an as-clear-as-possible vegetable cooking oil.

You can buy glycerin from Michael's in a block format. I would check and see if they have liquid too. JoAnn's also has the blcok format.

It's found in drugstores and in some hardware stores. If you don't see it, ask. It may be behind-the-counter.

I've read that Ace Hardware once had good prices on it.

You can make it yourself? Google! It's pretty easy.
