Stress and not eating enough can both cause your body to shut down a bit.
Medication can too - it happened to me when I was on a high steriod dose when I was very ill.
Also periods can change their cycle as mine were very regular until I was 22 and now they can be a couple of days late.
But in your case I think it's stress and not eating - the body needs a cerain amount of fat to function right and it prefers you to be calm too.

You've pretty much answered your own question. Between a great deal of stress and starving yourself there are 2 good reasons why you might miss or be late for your period. Stress can play games with your period but if you have been starving yourself its more likely that - girls who have anorexia often lose their periods because they arent getting enough nutrients etc to support a pregnancy so their body stops their fertility.

First off if you are on the pill, that could reduce your flow to even non-existent. However the real tip-off here is that you say yourself that you are stressed and depressed. High levels of stress have been shown to actually delay or sometimes prevent you from experiencing your period. The key here is to try and reduce the levels of stress in your life. Your flow should return naturally once you are able to deal with these problems you are having.

Well you have your own answer! Pressure, stress, extreme weight loss and bad diet is really bad for your system so no wonder your periods have stopped. I would go to the doctor or somewhere or someone to help you with the stress in your life, eat a balanced diet and everything should go back to normal.

Stress can stop your cycle.
Medical Distress can stop your cycle.
Depression (and the meds used to treat it) can stop your cycle (the illness rarely, the drugs, less rarely).
Since you say you came close to starving to death... Many famine victims will stop mestruating as their body cuts out "high energy" activities (and menstruation is a *very* high energy activity).
The act of starving yourself likely has also done some permanent damage to your body. The nature of the damage, and how widespread you'll have to wait for your doctors to see.
Good luck and hopefully any damage will be minimal!

Normal method is You can buy a test stick to check are you pregnancy or not?
if you havn't, you can check your body temperature,
When the ovum inside the Ovary, your temperature is about 36.5C (That 36.5C is from the first period day to the day of the ovum outside the Ovary that is about 15 days)
On the 15th day of your period, the ovum will outside the Ovary, your temperature will up 0.5C to be 37.0C. We call the 37.0C is high temperature that can until to your first period day that also has about 15 days.
If the HIGH TEMPERATURE over 18 days...
That means you are pregnancy.

If you've had sex, protection or not, you could be pregnant.
But stress and other health issues could cause you to be late. Sounds like the depression is making you late.

Well there are your reasons. Depression, stress, bad diet.
Find out why you depressed, try and sort it, relax more and eat.
