responding to questions posted on this site - and on the strength of reading that post - then proclaims with such certainty - the diagnosis?
Confused? So am I.
Post a question on this site - and should it be outwith the intelligence radius of some folk - their only weapon is to decree that the poster is insane/attention seeking/has low self esteem.
So - if we assume that they have the credentials to identify my shortcomings - do we assume that they read the postings only as case practise?
Or can we assume that these people who are so ready with thier riduculous and childish name callings are actually the very sort of people that they accuse me of being?
Why else would a mature (remember the name of the site) sane, intelligent member of the public not just ignore that which they find uninteresting/boring/uneducated - and find something more to their liking?
Now lets just watch who crawls out of the woodwork to respond to this one!!!!

PAT.MORE: If I were to calm down any more than I am - I would be dead. Please do not confuse passion with not being in control and calm.
I am passionate about the freedom of speach and the right to post on here that which is important to me without the scurrilous replies from those who believe themselves to be in some way the guardians or 'mob' who dictate what will and will not be allowed on here.
They wave their weapons of 'thumbs down' and 'reporting' because they have neither the wit nor the words to debate or discuss.
AND THAT IS CENSORSHIP
And tell me - what do you consider CALM - the idle chit chat that has infested these pages for the longest time that is so positively boring and politically correct as to be fit only for the dust bin. In my opimion. AND I AM ENTITLED TO THAT - SURELY????

Your comment ....
"the idle chit chat that has infested these pages for the longest time that is so positively boring and politically correct as to be fit only for the dust bin. In my opinion"
Come on....you have posted several similar Q's along this line this evening. You are apparently feeling very upset and disappointed in how YA Seniors is "evolving" lately. But YA is just like life in general - it changes, people come, people go. You might admire some of them, and not others. But its just life ! And this is just a web site ! If it is fit for your dustbin, fine. You can always look elsewhere for the intelligent and erudite debate that you crave.
Since I have just written an answer to this Q, I guess in your opinion I have "just crawled out of the woodwork"...thanks a million. You are a shining example of the sort of comment that makes others want to quit using YA Seniors. Please, get some rest, and get over whatever is bugging you.
Repeat after me..."this is just a website"....."this is not my whole life".
By the way, just as a personal note....my whole life at the moment consists of sitting with my dear friend who is terminally ill, with only days to live. I'm on YA tonight because I can't sleep for obvious reasons, and I thought I'd find some cheerful and interesting questions to ponder over. I found your repetitive, self-obsessed complaints instead. Thanks a lot.You really made my day.

I agree with what you said. A lot of people just come on here, read something and 1)Don't understand it in the first place 2)Don't actually read the whole question 3)Answer like an @%^hole...etc. But at the same time....it's Yahoo Answers - you can't censor who comes on here and you can't expect to get really great answers all the time. The best you can do is glean a little. I think that's the danger of the site.
I don't begrudge people to come on YA and talk about Britney and her sister's baby on the entertainment section...that's fine. But I would like to add that it is really sad what some people post - especially teen girls. I'm only 22 so it's not like I'm far removed from that place. I was also anorexic and suffered from depression (yes real anorexia and real clinical depression). But, I think some of them DO want professional advice, and it worries me that they're getting answers that they may take to heart - especially when those answers are coming from other 13 year old girls who don't know any better. Surely no 45 year old would come to YA looking for anything more than an opinion....but what about some of the younger posters? That's what scares me!

Not being into heavy duty thinking, I just glance over the humor, banter, & rapport that seems to emanate from this site. Although probably not as unintelligent as I, There are an awful lot of folks of all ages (possibly the majority over 50) that truly find pleasure/entertainment in dropping by. Is there a reason that all forms of communication can't exist in the same realm without bunched bloomers or wedgies ? I don't take myself or anyone else real seriously -- life is too short. let's all lighten up and live ! -- peace

I've had a lot of criticism from seniors I know at times for not posting serious deep questions. I do from time to time have pickle that I don't expect to be solved but I do want read and sort through others opinions about the problems. This could be about alzheimers, housing, help with obtaining nursing home care, home health care, medicenes etc. I just jump in and act foolish, serious, humorous and lots of other ways. Depends on the day, pain, problems.
I definitely do not accept others opinion of me affect how I feel about myself.
Hang in there as you obviously intend to do...after all we all make up Seniors.

I am confused now on who you are calling the mental health professional.I just know that whenever we post any question, we are subjecting ourselves to all the good and bad that comes with the replies. Some people miss the point totally.Others are just rude because they disagree.I might answer a question strictly to receive two points, but I hope my answers are never rude and hurtful.I will crawl back into the woodwork now. Have a great day!

I agree with Harley Lady. It would be bad news for anyone on Yahoo! Answers to think that they are getting professional help. Mental or otherwise. Nurses may feel the need to get away now and then, and decide to answer those that she knows something about. My question to you, is what audience do you think believes they are actually getting professional help here?

I think you need to continue with your medication. That or loosen up and not take yourself so seriously! Life's too short - I could keep going forever with the platitudes!

It is not up to me to judge anyone on here !!! I am only interested in why I am on here. Not what anyone else is doing on here !!!! I just don't understand why you keep yourself all riled up all the time hon !!!! It seems you are taking everything personally. The seniors section does not revolve around any one person. It is for any one who cares to use it !!! Relax and enjoy all your friends on here and ignore the morons !!! Peace .......

I truthfully have not seen a post like that. I am sorry, there are a lot of new posters on the site lately and I don't know who they are or why they would write that?.
