Is there such a product and where to buy it? I'm making kitchen mats from soft material and would like to spray the backs with rubber or something similar to make them non-slip (like the bathroom mats you can buy). Any ideas?

I did something like that for my bar back. What I did was go out and get a big sheet of carpet padding, that thin foamy grid like stuff. and I sprayed an adhesive to the back of the mat, stuck the pad on, then trimmed to size, worked great for me. also, I've seen the same pads in smaller sizes marketed for cabinet linings.

I would say try craft stores and also home centers. I believe there is a brush on form with a rubber base. Find someone knowledgeable in the store (if you can) and ask. As a last resort, you could always donate them to an animal shelter, which is always looking for clean rugs and towels. Sometimes it's just more sensible to buy new ones if affordable. Best wishes.

There is a rubberized spray paint that you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes. I am not sure if it will adhere to your material, but it would be worth investigating.

I know there used to be a product similar to that for coating the handles on metal tools. Like you could coat the handle on an adjustable wrench so you have a better grip...

You can get it from DIY shops and it is used as a sealant for roofs, etc.

Be careful which one you buy as some don't set hard, they stay as a fluid rubber for expansion in hot weather, etc.

You might want to try pond and/or pool supplies too, since there's a spray on liner.
