With no offense at all to Yahoo Q & A, or any who might actually click the ad; does anyone else find the mini video ad, even moderately annoying everytime it "Fires up?"

Just wondering?

Smiles. Thanks to all so far. I haven't been "Hit On" this much since I won the lottery,LOLOL.

I realize Q&A is FREE to us, and I'm OK with that, and that sponsers pay the bills, and I even don't mind so much the young lady from SNL, but the ad is like a Cheese Grater,,,to me at least.

LOL Harpy, maybe that's the rub? Since when did the "U" get into the ad game? Smiles.

That's an ad? OMG, I thought it was a message to me from above. Oy. Now I'm disappointed.

I just noticed a pause button. I pressed it and didn't get an ad to pop up, as what usually does whenever you click anywhere in an ad. I think it should default to "pause" and anyone interested in hearing it can just hit play.

I've noticed it sparingly in the last few months, but now I'm getting it with every category I go to.

Oh the haunting memories of that damn Orkin one with the camera snap sound...

Steve, I rarely hit the ads section of the Q&A, mostly because I am more interested in the questions. However, on occasion I do get one. Am not fond of a WMV immediately loading and no way to get out of it other than to just leave the site.
My feeling is that Yahoo gets a lot of mileage out of its other sites, and the sponsorship of the Ask portion is a tiny amount compared to the rest.

it is not what I want to hear everytime I change the page in Y/A, it does get irritating and I have also turned down my speakers. I hope it doesn't last too long, that was not a very good advertising ploy. I think it has probably backfired.

We're all sick and tired of it! And surely Yahoo knows this by now. I feel like just shutting down Answers I'm so annoyed by Amy and Will's voices. And I shouldn't have to turn down sound .

HIGHLY annoying, but part of the price we all have to pay? By the way, Steve. I see alot of your answers in here and I just want to say you are highly knowledgeable and I do respect that plus how you are willing to help.

YES! I almost posted this same question. And whats really bad is it sounds like they say "And you get high with your family" at the beginning.

How to get rid of the Gap ad in 5 seconds flat.!!!!

go to: Tools>Manage Add-ons>Disable Shock Wave flasher.

No more Gap. And another 5 seconds will enable it again when you need to--or when the damn ad is removed.

yes. it's intrusive as well as distracting. a normal pop-up without sound would be much less annoying.
