You can get an enzymatic pet stain cleaner at your grocery store, the enzymes literally "eat" the stain and clean it up. I have pets that occasionally have accidents ( or maybe it is deliberate, I have my suspicions) and that is what I use on my carpet.

DO NOT USE AMONIA OR VINEGAR TO REMOVE THE STAIN! These products only make the area smell more like urine and the animal will smell this an urinate there again and again. It's their natural reaction to go where it smells like urine already. The best thing to do it go to your local pet store and buy a product designed to treat pet stains. They make many cleaners that are biologically engineered with enzymes and bacterias that breakdown and dissolve the waste, removing the stain and the smell.
As with any cleaner though, you should always test a spot somewhere that is easily hidden, you don't want to find out the hard way in the middle of your living room floor!

If it has turned a shade of yellow or greyish, the color may be gone.
Urine acid can destroy the dyed color.
If it's not too large a spot, you could have it plugged with a matching piece from a closet. It will not match perfectly, as the closet is not exposed to light and not subject to traffic. It may work if the carpet is not too old.
You would need to find a rem for the closet first. Clip a bit from a corner for color. Measure the closet. Then you could have a mechanic do both at the same time.
Depending on your location, labor might run about $75.00 or so. Rem may be less than $15 or so.

instead of ammonia and vinegar try using Borax. It comes in a powder form, you can find in in the laundry section of the grocery store. Its great for all kinds of task.

water and white vinegar will neutralize the urine odor, the vinegar smell will go away. Oxyclean should handle the stain itself
