No, because it's not true, it originated in Germany - the popular image of Santa Claus is due to coca cola, as they drew him in that way (especially the coke red) I think the original version was green. They did not however invent him.

Not the actual Santa Clause, but the one with the red suit, yes. They were using him to advertise Coca Cola.

No, that's not strictly accurate. Saint Nicholas (a bishop in 3rd Century Turkey) is the original basis of the story. In Victorian times a Father Christmas / Old Father Time figure is commonly featured dressed in green. All Coca-Cola did was introduce the red clothes and use it in their advertising. However, they borrowed greatly from a cartoonist called Thomas Nast.

coca-cola is not responsible for the creation of the idea of Santa Claus. that goes back long before Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola created the image we associate with Santa Claus today. an artist employed by Coca-Cola was the one who put santa in a red suit and made him jolly and round. prior to this artists interpertation of santa, santa had many different images. because the US is made up of people from many different cultures each culture brought with them their own version of Santa. it was the artist employed by Coca-Cola that gave us the image we all relate to today.

Unfortunately the red suit and white beard weren't a creation of Coca Cola's either, no matter how much it suits them for you to think that.
EDIT: It is a debunked urban myth – Coca Cola didn't use the image until 1930s the red-suited, white-whiskered, jolly Santa existed well before then, there are dozens of internet sources –

Coca Cola is responsible for the image that was on the bottles. They did not create him.

correction: Santa was created in Germany off of a myth from saint Nick.
The image we see Santa in (red nose, rosy checks, fat, white beard, red suit) comes from Coke. Not Santa himself.
