How hard does it get on Christmas day in Sydney Australia to get a cab to get to the suburbs?

There are fewer cabs on the road and many of them are answering telephone bookings as lots of people want to go visiting without the worry of being breathalysed. If you are coming in on one of the interstate trains, you can expect a few cabs to meet it (so be the first off the train) but if you are using suburban trains you might have a long wait. Around 3pm forget it. It is shift change time and there are no cabs on the road.

You might be lucky and get one quickly but I would be prepared to wait anything up to an hour depending on how many other people are waiting on the taxi rank.

I definetely wouldn't count on it. There won't be many about. I would book one atleast an hour before you want it. i don't think you would have much luck flagging one down in the street.
