how exactly does mame work?

Question

im asking because iv'e tried it a million times and it still won't work.i did everything they told me to do i put the roms in the rom folder but when i open it. it says some files are missing or corrupted. wat is the deal!!!

Its really not that hard.

Use MAME32 newest version you can get.
Download a rom (mrlo)
Keep the rom zipped and place it in the Roms folder
Some games need additional files (downloads) they are the Bios roms and some times CHD files.
I suggest to go ahead and get as many Bios files saved in the ROMs folder as possible that way your ready for a new game rom.
