Football players are supposed to be men but these guys are just parasites trying to freeload on todays league. They should be grateful for any help they get that they are not entitled to.

Contracts won't mean anything as long as there are players unions to put cash-out clauses or trade clauses. contracts are a waste of time in sports today. You may as well let players go where they want and play as long as they want.
But to your innitial point...huh? Mike Ditka and Keyshawn Johnson and Emmit Smith and everyone else across all networks are simply adding entertainment value and very little football analysis. If you are using their picks to play Vegas odds, I understand why you're upset. But know that they don't take themselves as seriuosly as you seem to.
P.S. I'm pretty sure the #1 rusher of all time and one of the top 5 coaches of all time have plenty of money and don't need a "pay out."

They just want support and a stronger pension, because they can't afford to pay their medical bills. These players did not make as much money on the players do now. It is a little different than going to work at an office.
How can you turn your back on people that built the game and defend the NFL who makes billions. Poor corporation... Ditka doesn't want the money for himself anyways.

have you seen some of these guys? you wouldn't be saying that if you have. all they are asking for is the NFL to pay for their disability's they incurred while playing the game.
as a side note. i once walked Dick Butkis around a store helping him shop and it wasn't pretty. he made some money, but the guys who didn't are just as messed up.
I'll explain it in terms i hope you can understand as a liberal hating conservative.
you wouldn't deny soldiers disability for injury's sustained on the battle field, would you? in my mind its the same thing. it's not a bunch of liberals wanting to give money away.

The players made big cahs in the day and squandered it.
Sorry they are in medical mess up, but that is the individual's responsibility. Sorry. They are owned nothing by today's fans and players.
