yes i have and it saddens me to see them neglected, that is why i want to be cremated , it seems kinder and not so much of a burden on the next generation after immediate family have passed on x

Hey Irish,
I live near the San Gabriel Mission in Los Angeles. The Mission was important to LA history in that the Mission predated LA as the first European settlement in the area. It was founded in 1771.
There is a small cemetary there. And, yeah. It's kind of strange thinking these people once stood where I'm standing now. I wonder about the stories they could have imparted about their time here on earth.
They aren't forgotten though. They rest in the shadow of one of the greatest monuments on the west coast, the Mission itself and its 200 year old walls.
Peace, Alan K.

I have visited old graves when I visit those of relatives or some historical graves. They were also good subjects for photography. I do not feel bad about them. We will all be in that situation sooner or later.

There is a cemetary like that close to my house too. Its still taken care of fortunately. There are alot of old graves there. I put floors one woman's grave thats over 100 years old. I just felt a connection to her. And I talk to them all. Might sound silly, but it seems important to me that someone remembers them.

How do you know no one goes to visit? Do you stake out the grave site? People put flowers down, but they are usually picked up once they are dead (the flowers)? Interesting thought though.

oh that is so sweet! I like to visit my dads grave, and when I go I look at all the other really old ones and think about who they are. Lots are old military markers and I tell them thank you for serving this country.

That's really nice of you.
I sometimes visit old graveyards with my husband. There is a Civil War era cemetary not far from us. It's pretty cool.

No.
Flowers are put there by the living, for the living. The people in the graves are dead and as such don't care about things like that.
