I agree 100%. I always used layaways even as far back as when Hills Dept Store was open.. I dont like using credit I would rather put it on layaway .Why use credit that charges you interest?.I know alot of people will say "just use credit and pay in full when bill comes," but its easier said then done, probabaly 80%of people that do it that way do not pay in full when bill comes and thats why so many are in debt. I agree with what some are saying about putting even $50 a month away and come Christmas time we'd have $600 saved.Iplan on doing that this coming year...Merry Christmas!

There are other places that still have a Layaway plan. And yes I agree Wal-Mart has more to offer, I know it is hard but my credit union has a Christmas account that a person can set up, so a person could put away a little over the year.

I agree, Walmart will also make more money that way, but hey theyre not using common sense. I think they dont do layaways anymore because maybe the staff working there or other people were probobly stealing from there stores.

I totally agree with you even if there are other places with layaway they still don't sell them at the price that walmart has. They should definately bring back layaway at least for christmas.

Totally agree. Kmart still has layaway but not as good of stuff as Walmart.

that would be nice and folks have already protested but don't do any good

Walmart have the "BIG HEAD" and when they took away the layaway that told me that they no longer care about the consumer.....a retail giant that all about making money

The best way to get them to see that we mean business is to STOP SHOPPING THERE!

Good luck getting through to Wal-mart. They are not great about listening to their customers when it comes to decisions they have made about cutting business costs.

They have also closed many of the fabric and crafts departments, only leaving rural stores with fabric choices.

I totaly agree... I am sure they would make more money if they allowed layaways.

You can still pull off something similiar. Buy a low dollar Walmart gift card and add cash to it when you can. Then when you have enough on it to buy a bigger item, go get it.
