...ugh...another uneducated person on yahoo. dark isnt an actual object, its an idea, its the absence of something. light is made of photons. photons are little packets of energy that travel in a corkscrew path at 186,000 miles a second. the wavelength of the light (distance from one peak of the corkscrew to another) determines what kind of light it will be. the longest wavelength are radio waves, then infrared waves. then there is visible light and all of the colors that we can see, that part of the spectrum is maybe 1/200 of the entire spectrum. after that is ultraviolet, then x-rays, then gamma rays.
darkness is what you get when there are no photons around. since humans can only see visible light there doesn't even need to be a complete absence of photons. humans cant see radio, infrared, ultraviolet, x-ray, or gamma rays, which are all around you. so darkness is just the absence of visible light. you could never get a complete darkness because some photons will always get in, and you can never have a complete darkness unless yor in a lead box several meters think.

A very different question. Light means a ray of light wich gives light and dark means so deep and almost black in colour.
Differences between them are, we can take the colour for an example. Light is almost yellow or somewhat colourful. But dark means almost black.
And in light we can see in dark we can't see. I think that's the most significant one.

There is really only one thing here: light.
Dark is merely the absence of it.

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

It's hard to really get down to the reasoning behind what you mean, but it seems there should be a deeper explanation.
I like the question, very original.
