For Orcs?
YAY, my favorite race after the undead!!
Ok, it depends if you got frozen throne or not, but ill split it up for ya.

FOR TEH ORIGINAL: build burrows, trust me, just built a crap load of burrows and arrow towers, along with catapults.
After you do that, dont waste your money on grunts, get heros.
Max out these heros.
Tauren Chieftain and Farseer.
Once you do that, start building taurens and shamans and troll witch doctors, keep them all with your two heros at all times, when you do this, they will be constanly healed as long as you place healing wards. DONT PLACE STUN WARDS, THEY STUN YOUR UNITS TOO. Works well on most maps.

For the Frozen throne:, do the same strategy above, but with a twist, find a camp that sells the heroes, and buy the beast master, level him out too, until he gets Stampede, once he gets stampede, use the first strategy without the BM, then after the carnage, use the BM to stampede the remaining portions of the base. Works everytime.

Listen m8, i have warcraft 3 and world of warcraft.
World of warcraft is a lot better but the problem with me is that after a year you need to stop for like 3 months cos it gets a bit boring, but you get seriously addicted, this meens getting up at 2 in the morning every week night kind of thing, good luck

In the older games, I would build walls - they would attack the walls first for some reason. Then I'd hit them with catapults.

WHAM - alllllll gone.

Maybe put a fleet of archers behind the walls.

depends what race ur up against if u r vs other orcs blade master shadow hunter gruntrs raider a kodo or 2 and spirit walkers.
if ur vs human blade master chieftan grunts raiders n spirit walkers get bat riders though if they get air.blade master tauren chieftan if ur vs ud if they go fineds get grunts n raiders n bats if they go gouls go wverns and gargoyles.blade master shadow hunter if ur vs a night elf this again depends what they get if they go most things go grunts raiders n walkers but if they get bears get kodos to devour them
