my dishwasher keeps getting water back up in it and it's dirty water!
i use to use my dish washer 1 time a week!

They said the reason why it don't work is because i dont use it enought. i never had this problem at the other place in the same complex i down sized!

I have called them back to drain that stinky water out and asked them to fix it!
told them i'll run it all the time but i need it fixed!

i think the maintance guy was well not doing his job!
What are my options?

Sounds like the drain hose is not run correctly, need to make a loop in it so water will not drain back into washer. Or the pump is not working. Not using it enough is ridiculous, once a week or once a month, it should still work.

The maintenance guy does not seem to be qualified for his position.

There are two things that you might check. Beyond these you probably have a mechanical problem that will require a service technician. Your best bet for solving this problem yourself is to check for clogs or blockages in the washer drain hose. In most cases this hose runs from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal or the sink drain. You can disconnect this hose and plunge it with a straightened wire coat hanger. You may find this hose is completely blocked by a collection of dishwasher debris. Plunge until clear and reattach. You also can see if you can locate the drain inside the washer. If you can clean it and be sure it isn't clogged. If neither of these work you may have a defective timer or drain valve solenoid. Hopefully, it is a clogged drain hose, which you can fix.

I am almost positive the drain hose to the dishwasher is not connected correctly. with out air to the drain hose the dirty water being pumped out creates a suction and brings the dirty water back to the dishwasher.Or your pipes need a plumber to run a snake to clear some blockage.Sounds to me like your Landlord Is lying to you it dosen't matter if you use it once a month, once a day or what ever it should not suck the dirty water back in the dishwasher and sounds like the mainance is trying to make excuses or he is putting you off maybe cause the holidays are almost here.It would be a good idea to notate time, date and all conversation on this manner in case you deside to take it to small claims court.

You can install a backflow preventer if a loop in the line isn't enough. It is water from another unit's sink or dishwasher being forced into the dishwasher. You probably have a common drain pipe with an adjoining unit and that's where it is coming from.

The "air lock" that silvery thing on the top of the sink has to bring air to the washer to drain properly, if not, it wll allow dirty water to comes back. Either you can take it out and clean it or tell the landlord to do his job righ or, you' ll call a plumber and charge him.

deffinently not from not running it, no rpoblems there what it is is a bad install under the sink where the flexible drain hose is, there should be a loop, it should come up from below the counter up in a loop and down into the piping from the sink, if your getting back flow its uarenteed that, nothing else.

1) ensure that there is proper grade on the drain line
2) confirm that there is no kink in the drain line from the dishwasher to your kitchen drains (you'll have to pull the dishwasher out to do this)
3) clean the filter basket that is located inside the dishwasher (if you have that option)

You use the term landlord...so I guess you're renting.
So just keep complaining until it is fixed. Keep track of how many times you complain including dates and times. Complain in writing and keep a copy. Remember if you don't have paperwork you never told them about the problem (sad world ain't it?). If it is not fixed with in a week or so go to your local health department and complain to them. And YES the fix it guy was feeding you a line.
