Firstly, what is the whole reason she wont let you use tampons? does she not think you are old enough or that they are safe enough? At your age honey, i think that you are old enough to make your own decisions and if you think that tampons will be better for you and cause you less hassle then use them! Just gently explain to your mum that your a big girl and that you really would like to use them, if only give them a try. Tell her that she should trust your decision but you really value hers as well. She will appreciate your honesty. If you have a really heavy flow and wear tampons, try using a panty liner as well in case you have a leak to stop the embarassement of having it go onto your school clothes as well. Worked well when i was at school in summer.

My mother was exactly the same way, and I made up my own mind. My mother expected me to buy my own supplies because I was babysitting and making my own spending money, so along with that came the ability in my mind to make my own decision, and so I made it, and I bought the tampons, and I never looked back. After that the only time I wore pads was after I delivered a baby. In today's day and age I do not understand why some women still think that young women have to wear pads instead of tampons, to me they were bulky, uncomfortable and when I felt uncomfortable then I didn't do well, so by wearing pads I felt more in control and better about myself. I only had the one conversation with my mother about it after I made the decision, if I'm buying them, then I'm using them, simple. Hopefully this helps you. Good Luck

possibly your mom would not learn about tampons for toddlers. the in uncomplicated words element in case you bleed alot you nonetheless prefer to positioned on a pad, because you'll flow threw a tampon like loopy. Tampons may reason alot of issues in females, extra cramps too. I overlook the call of the syndrome you would possibly want to get with tampons, yet it is likely why your mom would not choose you to positioned on them. and under no circumstances positioned on a tampon to mattress.

Find out why she doesn't want you to use them.
If it is because of the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (the only logical answer I can think of), then read up on it and how to avoid it, and present her with your knowledge. Showing responsibility and knowledge in the area will help you out.
If you are going to use tampons, read up on it yourself anyway. It is important. Search google for TSS (toxic shock syndrome) or ask on here.
Also, as someone else mentioned, if your flow really is extremely heavy, you could ask your doctor about it. There are medical reasons that can cause that.

I really think, you'l need a tampon when you had heavy flow. I can't understand, why your mom won't let you to use tampons. She may not aware of it, if you have heavy flow. Best things for you to buy tampons for your self. Make sure get junior size tampons. It will help you put tampon in your body easier than regular tampon.

Have you tried using the pads made for overnight wear. They are much longer to prevent leaks and have a higher absorbancy. Try those and change more often to prevent leaking on your clothes. Good luck!

your mom may have a very good reason for not wanting you to use tampons and if your flow is that heavy even a tamp won't help you'll still have to use a pad to make sure you don't leak. Have you tried talking to her and finding out why she won't let you use them? Additionally, if its extremely heavy you may want to talk to your doctor because something could be wrong. Good luck!

I suppose your mom has her reasons, you might ask her what they are....but if one napkin leaks, that should tell you that you are not changing often enough. Tampons will do the same thing, if you don't change often enough, so if you experience heavy flow, then change every hour.

my mother's the same way, i know how you feel, i leaked several times while at school, it sucks, i would go to the bathroom every hour, i felt so paranoid, but once i turned 18 i went to the doctor's and now i'm on birth control, and it's great, i know exactly when my period will come, and there's hardly any blood, maybe you should try that...
