Yes, I have been many times. I think everybody has the ability to touch people and the capacity to be touched in that way.
If you are a kind thoughtful and warm-hearted person, you notice it more often than others.

I'm usually quite healthy but a few years ago I was taken ill and had to have an operation and was off work for 3 months -the only time EVER.
I had cards and flowers from family and friends and also from residents in the Hotel where I worked. Neighbours put the bins out and watered the plants and mowed the lawn. The local shop delivered anything I wanted and you can all mock Kerry Katona but the driver from Iceland not only delivered my groceries but put them away for me as well.
The local club organized a few trips during that Summer and although I'm not a member, I was invited, too.
On the day I was taken ill, my daughter told my boss who couldn't believe it and came round to see if there was anything she could do. My daughter accompanied me to the hospital and my boss babysat for the 2 x toddler grandsons for a few hours.
So, yes, I have.

My girlfriend, frequently. Her intentions are suspect though, I think we're playing a game of emotional oneupmanship; sparring over who's the more desirable partner. The last time I was touched (thoughtfully!) by a male was when I went to receive an award at university and a friend of mine shouted something as I walked across the stage. It was probably desultory, but I was still a euphoric moment for me.

Yes, there's a stranger from many years ago. I wish I could tell him I still remember his kindness and generosity. In 1971, my family was driving to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. A hurricane was on it's way, so we tried to find a room somewhere. We were hanging out in the lobby of a Ramada Inn, because there weren't any rooms anywhere. I was nine and my sister was twelve. The young desk clerk said his roommate was out of town, and gave us, and another couple with young children, the key to his house, and told us to help ourselves to anything in the kitchen. He worked all night, and we never even saw him at his house. He wouldn't take any money from my dad, either. How kind was that? I do wish I could thank him.
Why did I get a thumbs down for this, when almost no one else got one?

Yes when my daughter passed away this year I never realised just how popular she was and how much people cared. We had over 70 cards of sypmathy and half never ever heard of before and flowers arriving for me to say sorry from people I hardly knew. on the day flowers from all over and a packed church not bad for someone who did not really talk but she gave lots of love and happiness to all that met her.
Those cards flowers gifts of help and support were very important and touched us all a lot.

Yes. I was loading a lot of shopping into the boot of my car at a supermarket. As I slammed the lid (which automatically locked) I dropped the car keys into the boot. A woman at the next car saw what had happened and drove me all the way home to collect my spare keys and back to the supermarket saving me a long walk as no buses went near where I lived. She wouldn't take anything for her trouble or even tell me her name, saying only to return the favour to someone in need in the future.

Yes when my son was born (2yrs. ago) and my dad told his co-workers I had a baby boy. The next day flowers and a Teddy Bear was delivered to my door from an elderly woman that works at my dad's plant as receptionist had sent me! I was so suprised and called the office right away to thank her! Never ever met this woman! Merry Christmas!

Yes. When i was younger, probably about 8, my cousin and i (who was the same age) were crossing a busy road on our own and one of the drivers just stopped as he approached us, holding up all the other traffic just to let us cross. I've never forgotten that and now when i'm driving and i see some children at the side of the road, if it's safe to stop and let them cross, i do.

Yes, and it still surprises me when it happens. I was looking for a particular watch the other day and being unsuccessful in one shop, went outside. A man followed me and told me where there was a shop that sold the watch I wanted. It was so nice of him to stop and take time to do that - not enough people like that in the world anymore...

many times barb and very recently too, how everyone rallies round in times of need , their generosity is enormous , and when you think noone cares , someone does something or even just says the right thing to you and that can make the world of difference ( you know what i mean by this )
