I want to start out by saying that I have the Alltell network and my boyfriend has AT&T/Cingular. Yesterday we were sending multumedia messages back and forth because his dad was getting angry with the amount of minutes he used last month.
I could recieve a multimedia message from him fine, and on my phone I have it set so I can reply with a text. It will go through just fine if i reply to his multimedia message. But I can't get texts from him, and I can't send him text without replying to a multimedia message.
This makes NO since to me! What is going on? I am pretty sure that it is his phone because he doesn't ofter text people. and even if he does, i dont know if they have ever actually made it to thier disination. I send texts all the time, and people always reciece them, and I get responces.
So whats going on that he can send multimedia messages but he can't send a text? Multimedia messages just take too long to get, it takes about 15 mins. - 1/2 an hour sometimes. Why is that?

Sounds lke Daddy called the cell provider and had junior's text messaging feature disabled on his phone.

If the boy has an Internet access plan, he may still be able to send and receive picture messages. Those are more like e-mail messages, which pass through the Internet. Text messages use the phone network and are easily blocked.

I work in a cell phone store, and we get angry parents all the time...They get a bill full of unplanned charges, and the only way they can think to prevent it is to lock those features out.
