Should be 10 times 8 times (-x times -x). The two negatives multiplied by eachother become positive, so the final answer should be positive.

Same with the second one, because the exponent is an even number. If it was odd, the final answer would be negative

-80x^2 and -10x^4 because a positive number times a negative number gives you negative numbers. its not written, but there are -1's in front of the x's

(10) (8) ( - x ² )
(-1) (10) (8) ( x ² )
- 80 x²

(5) (2) (- x^4)
(-1) (5) (2) (x^4)
(-1) (10) (x^4)
- 10 x^4

remember that neg * pos = -

you have (+)*(+)*(-) = + * - = neg

in other words if in multiplication there is an odd number of negative numbers the answer is negative.

Good Luck,
