Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this. Every night i am unable to fall asleep. I will be on my bed twisting and turning for hours at a time. Most of the time i do this for about 5-6 hours before i finally fall asleep. I tried breathing techniques, sleeping pills, warm water/milk, listening to music, brainwave manipulation programs from the internet and nothing works...

I spend so much time trying to fall asleep the most sleep i ever get is only 2-3 hours (4 for the most).. Which results in an exhausting day when i get up the next morning.

As far as i can remember I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM ALL MY LIFE!!!!!!

I have suffered so much from this under my eyes have sunk and my face looks wrinkled and old!!! I AM 16 BUT PEOPLE TELL ME I LOOK LIKE 18-19!!!!!!!! Sometimes i even feel to faint and i occasionally get blurred vision due to lack of sleep..lack of concentration and i even feel suicidal..

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!
ANYTHING APPRECIATED

Anakin

Get married and have a kid. 2 years later have another one.

Trust me, between the 2 kids and your wife, you'll be knackered and the sleep deprivation guarantees that you will sleep wherever, whenever the opportunity strikes

Do you drink caffiene? If you do - stop! It really does keep people up at night. I personally try to have just one caffiene beverage per day and I don't drink any after 1 PM.

Also - if there is a lot on your mind - it may also be causing issues with your sleep. Try writing down everything on your mind before going to bed - what you need to do the next day, your worries, etc. That it a way of clearing your mind and allowing it to rest.

Try toavoid sleeping medication - it is addictive! If it is still an issue - you may want to talk to a doctor about it.

Hope that helps!

See a doctor and have him send you to a sleep specialist. They will tape a bunch of electrical probes on you to montior all kinds of things. Then they will be able to tell you what your problem is. A lot of people have this problem, and they usually have to go through this process. It's worth going through, because not sleeping is a terrible feeling. You get to the point where you just don't know how to fall asleep. Believe me, I add similar issues and they helped me.

Get a back massage. In particular, a back accupressure massage helps. After two or three sessions you should be sleeping well. Sometimes one session is enough.

Emptying your mind of all thoughts also worked for me when I was young. Now I don't usually have problems sleeping.

~~avoid caffeine (in green tea AND energy drinks)
~~do not nap during the day
~~exercise during the day (NOT right before bed)
~~use the bed only for sleeping; don't lay or sit on it to watch TV, talk on phone, or do homework (get a chair)

If none of that helps after a week, tell your parents about the problem, and tell them you think you need to go to a sleep clinic.

Drink bed time tea, exercise during the day, and do stretches before bed time. It's always worked for me.

well...do not think much around you..think about your own future..
do a lot of another works such as more exercise in the afternoon...
when you go to sleep just attempt this-daydreaming white and black colours or maybe you can favour someone to tell you a story..

sleepytime tea with valerian... hot shower... and mind numbing activity before bed... i.e. tv... if none of this works, go to the doctor... you need meds.
