Well, first I would wonder how I wound up alone in a desert.

Then I would figure out my best chance of survival. Would it be best to stay where I am, or try to make it to civilization? This really depends on the kind of desert.

First, I would have to find a source of water. That's really the most important part. Then, shelter or some kind of shade is next. I would have to see what kind of things I have with me and around me and see how they could aid me.

Then it would be time to either start making a camp (if there was a likelihood of being rescued) or try to find a way to civilization. Generally, the chances of survival are greater if you stay in one place, but if no one knows where you are or to look for you, your chances are slim.

If I were walking, I would have to find a way to carry as much water as I could, provided that I could find water at all. I imagine this would have to be done (if I didn't have a container) by soaking all of my clothes in the water source. I would fix my eyes on a point and walk to it, pausing every 100 paces to leave a stone or a mark so I could see if I were headed on a generally straight path. If possible, I would travel only between sunset and sunrise. I would have to expend energy on my search for food and water, so it's a good thing I'm not too picky what I eat!

Don't you watch Man v. Wild? Bear Grylles gets put in the middle of the desert. He pees on his shirt and wraps it around his head to keep cool. He eats some half spider half scorpion thing. He skins a llama or something and crawls inside of it to stay warm.

Fear surely emerges up but tunes the mind to face the challenge, as worry does not solve the problem

Enjoy the view. Sundowns are usually spectacular and the night sky is fantastic.
